Abdelnour) Life for mankind is a duration of time that endures many adventures. It is very subjective, because of this, life is only a concept in an individual’s mind, and is only true if they want it to be. As Descartes concluded, â€Å"I think, therefore, I am†, an individual’s perspective is their reality. Each individual’s perception of life is their reality, whether it is an adjective, a tool used for motivation, or a collaboration of daily actions our bodies do unconsciously. To confirm the conclusions made: Aristotle â€Å"On the soul†, Oscar Wide, Ferris Jabr’s article â€Å"Why Nothing is Truly Alive†, and Aristotle’s â€Å"Allegory of The Cave† will be referenced and discussed. Throughout time individuals have labeled entities as being â€Å"full of life† or being â€Å"lively†. People use life as an adjective in our language to describe their perspective, but is life an attribute? If so, then one thing can be more alive than another. Though the people of the progressive and reform era are labeled as progressives, the fact that they share a name does not mean that all their ideals were the same as well. Progressives were divided mainly into two camps and from those into even smaller ones. Schwartz's analysis of these cases clearly explains why some businesses thrive and others fail miserably on the Web. The goal is to offer something that causes visitors to return repeatedly to your site; something that grabs and keeps their attention. One of the most common misconceptions about the Web is that sheer numbers are proof that your site is successful ? that all you have to do is run up big numbers, then sell advertising space on your site to marketers who want to reach your audience (36). But reliance on sheer audience size is a recipe for success on television (mass media), not the Web. For content creators, the top priority must be to form a lasting bond with individual consumers and making sure that they are satisfied enough to return again and again. If consumers pay a subscription fee for some of your content, this serves as tangible proof that you are providing a quality Web experience.
